About the Project
With the garage being the front portion of the house facade, this project required a bit more the permitting tricks to get through the city of Portland. If this project was to be an ADU, it would have required an adjustment to show that the unit was in front of the street facing facade of the main dwelling. The clients chose to submit this as an additional living space and to keep the same address while renting affordably to college students from the nearby university and eventually to house their mother.
