About the Project
With the garage being the front portion of the house facade, this project required a bit more the permitting tricks to get through the city of Portland. If permitted as an “ADU” the project would have gone through an Adjustment for being in front of the main dwelling. The clients chose to submit this as “Additional Living Space” and to keep the same address while renting affordably to college students from the nearby university and eventually to house their mother.
