About the Project
This unfinished basement in Southeast Portland needed to be converted to an accessible apartment with new exterior stairs, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom for the homeowner’s relative to age-in-place. The project also included reconfiguring their main kitchen to fit a larger fridge and installing french doors to a covered exterior space. Additional work included tweaking their converted attic, updating the outdated water heater to a heat pump, and adding internet services. The clients made this project work within their budget and were able to learn a little bit about construction themselves!
