About the Project
This project removed an existing garage / art studio, which was constructed by the owner’s late husband that served as inspiration for this new ADU for the owner to age in place. The double front facing lot required an Adjustment with the city of Portland to allow 5ft rear setback. Utilizing the last of the financing from the Backhome Loan, the clients were able to build a generous ADU with vaulted ceilings, custom tiling and warm carpentry details. The trianglular windows and faux beam details connected the style of the main home with the new construction.
